Albert “Bud” Hall passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, November 6, 2014. He is together again with his sweetheart; what a joyous reunion.
Bud was born on October 21, 1931 in Woodland, Utah to Barney and Iola Johnson Hall. He grew up in Part City. He attended Park City High where he was quarterback of the football team. He also attended the University of Utah where he played in the marching band.
Before retirement he worked at Unisys in Salt Lake as an engineer. He enjoyed skiing, golfing, watching sports, and running. He completed 11 marathons after the age of 40.
On November 28, 1951 he married Shirley Petersen in the Salt Lake Temple. They were married 55 years here on the earth before her passing. They were blessed with six children and many grand and great-grandchildren.
Bud was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had a strong testimony of his Savior that he loved sharing with others. He served a mission with his wife in the Alberta Calgary, Canada Mission. He also served as a temple worker in the Ogden, Utah Temple for five years. Bud was a loving father and grandfather. He was a strength to his family and those around him. He was a man of service, always willing to help anyone.
He is loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Hall, a daughter, Patricia Dickey, and two grandchildren. He is survived by his children: Greg (Patti) Hall of West Haven, Susan (Steven) Stoddard of Nibley, Kim Hall of Layton, JoAnn (Kirby) Klever of West Point, Curtis (Jennifer) Hall of Layton and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at the Layton Central Ward, 60 W. Gordon Ave. Friends may visit family from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary 1867 N. Fairfield Rd, and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
Interment, Lindquist Memorial Park at Layton.
