Alene "Nene" Theadocia Dalton

June 5, 1964 — February 25, 2025

Our beloved Alene “Nene” Theadocia Dalton unexpectedly passed away on February 25, 2025, at McKay Dee hospital due to medical complications. The grief of her passing is felt across generations of her family and friends. Our only solace is that she has found comfort and peace in heaven with her loving parents Jerrold and Norma Dalton. She is deeply missed by all who knew her, especially by her surviving siblings Lorena Thornton, Wayne Dalton, Keven Dalton, Winette Moss, and Cami Dalton; as well as 20 nieces and nephews and 46 great nieces and nephews.

Alene was born June 5, 1964 in Ogden, Utah. She was raised in Sunset, Utah and graduated from Clearfield High School, eventually buying her home in Clearfield, where she lived until the time of her passing. She adorned her home with her collections from rock shows, trading posts, bookstores, or anywhere she went exploring.

Alene’s greatest passion in life was serving others. Using her creative gifts she arranged flowers for events, painted ceramics, decorated cakes, and created beautiful family scrapbooks every year for Christmas. She spent countless hours serving on the board for the Nine Mile Canyon Settlers Association and helping her mother, sister, and aunt record the rich history of their family and others associated with Nine Mile Canyon. If there was ever a birth, funeral, birthday or any other family gathering Alene was always there giving support and love.

Alene had a tender, giving spirit whose love for those around her was endless, including her fur family. Her passing has left a void in our family that we pray will be filled by those who honor her legacy by serving each other, building relationships with extended family, preserving our history and traditions, remembering the small things, and being a friend to all those in need.

Funeral services will be held Saturday March 8, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah. Family and friends may visit Friday rom 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. at the mortuary prior to the service.

 Interment, Cleveland Utah Cemetery.
