Alex David Troxell

November 23, 1960 ~ August 15, 2015

On August 15, 2015 our loving brother, husband, friend, father, and Uncle Al the Kiddies Pal, left his place here on earth to join the heavenly members of Valhalla being greeted by his parents, relatives, friend, and furbabies all whom he dearly missed.

Dad Kenneth, Mom Nettie, and Brother Eric welcomed Alex into this world on November 23, 1960 in Middletown, Pennsylvania where they resided until Alex was 5.  The family then relocated to Ogden, Utah.  Not long after arriving they discovered Alex was a true born entertainer.  Alex attended Ogden City Schools and graduated from Ben Lomond in 1979 where he was involved in the Drama Club playing many important parts in various plays.  He sang in the choir and was a member of his first rock band with other classmates.  After graduation Alex continued his music career and eventually took a major role in recording a full length tape with his band Black Ivory.  Alex was a natural making beautiful music with any instrument.  His charismatic and gregarious personality soon prevailed and he became the bands front man. He enjoyed every minute of it and could energize an empty bar as quickly as a packed stadium.  Black Ivory’s careers lead them to Seattle, Washington where they played with famous rock groups.

Besides being an avid musician; Alex was a dedicated paper boy, telephone solicitor, water company employee and most recently retired from the US Postal Services.

Alex met his beautiful wife Michele in 1984.  They became instant friends, and after a long courtship, they were married on May 19, 1995.  Together they raised their beautiful daughter Amber with Alex being an awesome dad.  He was the king of vacation planning and also coached soccer and softball for several seasons.  Alex and Michele were later divorced, but they never really parted ways remaining soul mates.  Alex was an avid sports fan, but his beloved Minnesota Vikings and Pittsburgh Pirates were his favorites.

Alex is survived by his brother, Eric (Vicki); five nieces, Mindy, Heather, Tara, Laura, and Kenzie; nephew, James; and nine great-nephews and nieces.  He is also survived by Michele, Amber, and his beloved bulldog, Gertrude and countless friends.  Alex was a friend to many and enemy to few and shared much love and wisdom beyond his years.  Alex was preceded in death by his parents and many close friends.

We offer a special thanks to the Pflugrad family who cared for Alex during a troublesome time and remained his close friends.

A proper Troxellian send off will be held on August 29, 2015 from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, followed by a Graveside service at 10 a.m. at the cemetery.  Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
