Alfred Ray Babcock
December 27, 1950 ~ March 5, 2020
Alfred Ray Babcock, 69, Ogden, Utah, passed away on March 5, 2020 after a brief illness.
Alfred was born December 27, 1950 in Pocatello, Idaho to Lowell and Marguerite Bushman Babcock. The male nurse that helped to deliver him called him “The Pugilist” because he had such broad shoulders.
Alfred was an only child and was preceded in death by his mother who died in 1988 and his father who died in 1980.
Some of Alfred’s interests were singing in the choir in junior high and high school, stamp collecting, railroading (his dad worked for the railroad), astrology, and collecting comics.
Alfred longed to go back home to Idaho and talked often about his family and friends there. He rarely forgot the name of anyone he met and could find his way anywhere on the roads of Utah and Idaho.
Alfred loved music, playing games, visiting with family/people, going for a ride, walking all over Ogden, drinking diet coke, eating candy, and most especially going out to eat. He had a laugh that was infectious, a smile that could melt your heart, and was as stubborn as a mule. He walked like a turtle unless he saw something interesting and in a hot second he disappeared.
Alfred is survived by his cousins and extended family that loved and enjoyed every moment of time they shared together. He was loved and will be eternally missed.
