Alfred George Huddleston
ROY a" Our dearest husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Alfred George Huddleston, passed away Monday, January 7, 2008 at his home with his loving wife at his side, following a very long battle with C.M.T. He fought a good fight.
Dad was born in Evanston, Wyoming on August 3, 1936 to Alfred and Mary Jane Clark Huddleston. He moved to Utah at age four and was raised in Syracuse attending North Davis Jr. High and Davis High School. He attended Weber State for two years.
He married the love of his life, Noretta Strebel, on November 9, 1953. They were later sealed to each other and their children in the Logan LDS Temple.
Dad began working at a young age, working for the railroad, hauling hay, driving trucks and finally ending up at Hill Air Force Base. While there, he worked as an expediter, a scheduler, a programmer and finished his career as a computer analyst. He retired from HAFB after 37 years of service. During his life Dad had many friends and associates he kept in contact with throughout the years.
Dad enjoyed and participated in many activities, some of which were boating, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, camping and four wheeling at their home in the desert. He was a gifted mechanic and kept many vehicles in good running condition.
As our father, he was always involved with our many activities during our school years. He was a baseball and football coach to his son and many young men in the neighborhood. He attended and cheered his daughters while they played soccer together.
Dad was stricken with a rare degenerative muscular disease (CMT) at the young age of 33. He battled this disease until he was called home. He is now whole again.
Dad had a special place in his heart for his animals, Pepper, Abby, and PC. He also loved his bird Hugo.
The family would like to thank all of their many wonderful neighbors who spent countless hours helping Mom take care of our Dad. Also, we would like to thank Leslie Arnold and Hailey Toyn from Vista Care for all the special care they gave Dad.
