Alfred L. Searle
OGDEN – Alfred L. Searle, 87, died Thursday, July 12, 2007 at McKay-Dee Hospital.
He was born February 26, 1920 in Vernal, Utah, a son of Lewis A. and Oral Johnson Searle.
On November 1, 1952, Alfred married Mary E. McCarthy in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.
He was a veteran of World War II serving his country with the U.S. Army.
Alfred worked as an expeditor at Hill Air Force Base.
He was a member of American Legion Post #9 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Alfred loved being in the outdoors camping, fishing, hunting and going to Wendover. Spending time with his grandchildren was a very special part of his life.
Surviving are his wife of Ogden; four children, Cleora Searle, Salem, OR; Merlin (Peggy) Searle, Ely, NV; Carolyn Somner, Varma, CA; Carla (Ron) Birky, Ogden; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are one brother, Glen (Betty) Searle, Clearfield; and one sister, Norma Searle, Bisby, AZ.
Preceding Alfred in death were his parents, one brother, Owen Searle and one sister, Axie Morgan.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 9 a.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road where Military Honors will be accorded.
Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m.
