Alfred "Al" K. Walker

Alfred K. Walker “Al” RIVERDALE - After fighting a fierce battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, five heart by-passes, a horse that fell on me, and cancer, I have fulfilled my journey here on this earth and have taken the hands of the ones who have waited for me with much patience and enthusiasm. I was born September 29, 1925 in Lyman, Wyoming to Charles Henry and Carrie Kemsley Walker. I was the tenth child of eleven children. I spent my early years working on the family ranch and graduated from Lyman High School. After graduating, I worked on a couple of various jobs until I went to work for the Union Pacific Railroad retiring in 1972. I married Betty L. Snowden in 1948 in Green River, Wyoming. We had five children: Marsha Jane (Jerry) Adkison, Ogden, UT; Carol Jean Rasmussen, Riverdale, UT; Miles King Walker, Green River, WY; Janell Amy (Randy) Pearson, South Ogden, UT; and Charlotte Ann (Chris) Kinser of Turkey. We later divorced. In 1972, I married Donna Lee Child Layton in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Our marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. I served in many church callings. My latest and most revered was as an ordinance worker in the Ogden, Utah Temple. I am survived by my wife Donna, my five children, one stepdaughter, Paula (Larry) Garner, Roy; eight grandchildren, Mary Jane (Jason) Ewing, Brigham City; Dusty Lynn (Chad) Argyle, Roy; Jake Val Rasmussen and Luke Val Rasmussen, both of Riverdale; T.J. Aikens, Roy; Rebecca Royer, North Ogden; Morgan Royer, Baylee Royer both of Turkey; and nine great-grandchildren. I was preceded in death by my parents, four brothers and five sisters. Graveside services will be held Friday, May 27 at 11 a.m. at the Lyman, Wyoming Cemetery. The family will meet with friends at Crandall Mortuary, 800 Uinta, Evanston, WY on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
