Ali Eujean Ross

Ali Eujean Ross left this earth on March 17, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was born on July 23, 1927 in Arlington, South Dakota the son of Eric and Nellie Svane Ross.
Ali grew up in South Dakota one of six children. He joined the Navy during World War II. He was stationed at the Navy Supply Depot in Clearfield, Utah when he met and fell in love with Ione Charlesworth. They were married on May 10, 1947 in Ogden, Utah. Ali and Ione raised 10 children.
After the Navy, Ali went to work for his father-in-law as a plumber. He became so knowledgeable that they asked him to teach plumbing classes up at Weber State College. He went to Purdue University for some extra training. Ali became a dedicated member of the Ogden Eagles #2472 and served faithfully for many years and he was also the manager of the Eagles Campground.
Ali loved the mountains, reading western novels, fishing, and hunting. Most of all Ali loved to spend time with his large family.
Ali is survived by his wife, Ione; 10 children, Lola (Eugene) Stevens, Gloria (Don) Peterson, Beth (Chris) Peer, Gene (Marchia) Ross, Emily Ross, Midge (Dennis) Casper, Diana Ross, Rory Ross, Val Ross, and Cheryl (Steve) Finder; 35 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and one sister, Marlys Balk of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
