ALICE MAY JACKSON DEVORE

1934-2015

Centerville – Alice May Jackson DeVore passed away on May 13, 2015, she was 80 years old.  Alice was born July 13, 1934 to Athol Monroe and Florence Higley Jackson in Eleva, Wisconsin, and was the fifth of six daughters.  She was raised in Eleva, Wisconsin on the family Dairy Farm and graduated high school in 1952.

Alice married Roy James DeVore on August 15, 1953 in Eleva, Wisconsin, and shortly after moved to Centerville, Utah where she lived the rest of her life.  After retiring, they also called Quartzsite, Arizona home in the winter months where they would go to escape the cold.

After moving to Utah, Alice joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  Her family was sealed together in 1971 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Alice worked for Cream O’ Weber dairy doing books for the delivery drivers before starting her career as Payroll Administrator for Bountiful City, retiring in 1995.

Alice was a devoted loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Alice is survived by her children, Jerry (Eleanor) DeVore, Phoenix, AZ; Jack (Karen) DeVore, West Bountiful, UT; Jolene (Jeff) Measom Lehi, UT; Jeff (Cindy) DeVore, Taylorsville, UT; grandchildren: Justin, AshaLee, Melissa, Jacquelyn, Kyle, Natalie, Bill, Christina, Rex, Jeremy, Anthony, BreAnna, Tyler and her bonus grandchildren Sheri and Amanda; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Alice was preceded in death by her great granddaughter Tier and grandson Chad, her parents Athol and Florence, and her sisters, Arlene, Joyce, Donna, Betty, and Barbara.

Funeral services will be held Monday May 18, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Porter Lane 3^rd Ward Chapel on Porter Lane and 434 W.  Friends may visit the family Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary 727 N 400 East, Bountiful UT, and 9:30 to 10:30 am at the church prior to services.  Interment at Centerville City Cemetery 700 East Porter Lane.
