Alice Kay Mower Gibbons, our loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, also known as Cinderella, or Crazy Alice passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, at the age of 85 surrounded by her family at home.
She was born on February 2, 1940, in Ogden to Robert A. and Mary L Mower. She was one of six daughters. When her dad came home from the hospital, he announced that we didn’t have a boy or a girl, we had a groundhog. She was raised in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School.
Alice married Ray S. Gibbons on November 27, 1959, and she cherished her marriage to Ray for 55 years until the time of his passing in 2014. During this time, she had 6 daughters, 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild as well as many step-grandchildren, all of whom she adored.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served her Heavenly Father in many different callings. Alice was also an active member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
She worked at Club Heights Elementary as a Librarian for many years.
Alice was a fantastic cook. She was famous for her amazing cinnamon rolls. She was a huge fan of the Utah Jazz and had season tickets for many years. She enjoyed family vacations and also the time they spent at the cabin.
Alice is survived by her six daughters, Bonnie (Allen) Bowers, Kristine Williams, Karie Gibbons, Janice Archuletta, Jill Dean, and Lorie (Mark) Ross; two sisters, Carol Williamson and Joy Mower. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; both of her parents; and her sisters, Vera, Marian and Ruth.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Applegate Home Care and Hospice for their dedication and loving care and to Jackie Lauritzen for her years of support and friendship to Alice.
