Alice Klein
June 1, 1928 – January 17, 2014
LAYTON – Alice Margaret Klein, 85, passed away peacefully in her sleep Friday, January 17, 2014.
Alice was born June 1, 1928 in Akron, Ohio the only daughter of Sherman and Augusta Hagloch. She went to school in Spirit River, Alberta Canada. She married Joseph Klein on September 12, 1948 in Dover, OH. They lived in Sexsmith Alberta, Canada, Dover, OH, Salt Lake City, UT and finally settled in Layton, UT in 1962. Joe and Alice were married twenty years until his unexpected passing on July 12, 1968.
Alice loved her memories of growing-up and hard work on a farm during the depression in Spirit River Alberta, Canada. Alice later worked at Hill Air Force Base for many years in accounting and finance before retiring in 1987. She loved to travel and was an avid square dancer. Alice took numerous trips all over the world. She enjoyed history, sightseeing and meeting people. Alice attended Trinity Lutheran church for many years. She served her church in many different capacities and cherished the many lifelong friendships from Trinity Lutheran. Alice will be remembered most by her legacy of selfless sacrifice as a loving mother to her two children.
Alice is survived by her children; daughter Linda J. Clawson and son R. Lindsey (Nancy) Klein both of Layton. Her siblings; Ralph Hagloch, Edmonton Alberta, Canada, Elmer Hagloch, Layton, UT, Lloyd (Betty) Hagloch, Grants Pass, OR and Bert (Marylou) Hagloch, Dover, OH. She was also blessed with eight grandchildren. Alice was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Joseph Klein.
Linda and Lindsey would like to express their sincere appreciation to Carrie Hopkins her Hospice Nurse, everybody from South Davis Home Health and Hospice and Orchard Cove Transitional Rehabilitation Center for all their help and loving care for their mother during the past year.
There will be a private memorial service for family and close friends. Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.
