Alice M. Robinson
ROY – Alice Marvel Olsen Robinson, 95, died Monday, May 14, 2007 at Peach Tree Assisted Living of causes incident to age.
She was born October 13 1911 in Peterson, Utah, a daughter of Ainer C.J. and Anna Elizabeth Grow Olsen. She was educated to the 8th grade in North Cache Schools and was always an A student. She was very athletic and was the catcher on the Cache County Champion Softball team in 1925.
Alice married James Earl Robinson on August 12, 1930 and they lived in Mtn. Green until 1940. They also lived in Washington Terrace, Trenton, Ogden, South Ogden and Roy. James preceded her in death in 1983.
She loved to quilt, travel, make ornaments, tell stories and play games. She won first prize in a dance contest at White City Ballroom in 1948. She also won a Model A Ford in 1932 for winning a slogan contest put on by Ogden Ford Motor Co. “ask the man who owns one!”. Alice could shoot both a rifle and shotgun very accurately. She could also write poetry.
Surviving are two sons, Byron E. (Roberta) Robinson, Roy; J. Clair (Carrie) Robinson, Warren; 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter Shirley Ann Storrer Lindsley, parents, brothers Norman, Harold, Kenneth and Clyde Olsen, and sisters Melba Hughes, Glendora Terry, Maythel Durphy and Fernie Olsen.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
