Allan Lee Brown
NORTH OGDEN- Allan Lee Brown, 83, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather ended his journey here on earth on June 17, 2007.
He was the fourth son and fifth child to enter into the home of Nile Little Brown and Marvilla Ellen Olson on September 28, 1923 in Weiser, Idaho.
Allan married Helen Bateman on December 3, 1955 in North Ogden, Utah. Their vows were solemnized on July 12, 1975 in the Ogden LDS Temple. Their marriage was blessed with four sons: Mark A. Brown (Sharon), North Ogden; Dr. Jeffrey J. Brown (Joyce), Richfield, Utah; David B. Brown, deceased; and Neal R. Brown (Cynthia) North Ogden. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Allan attended school in Weiser, Idaho and graduated in 1942. He worked for the Forest Service in Northern Idaho and attended Brigham Young University. He joined the Navy during World War II in 1942 and became a gunner in a torpedo bomber. He was released from the Navy in 1946. He attended Utah State University from 1947 to 1951 and graduated with a degree in Industrial Education. He taught Industrial Arts at the Utah State Hospital before being called back into active duty with the United States Air Force at the start of the Korean conflict.
During his military career, he was stationed at bases in England, Idaho, Germany, Utah, and Turkey. He had many short-term assignments that took him across Europe (NATO), Japan and Thailand during the Vietnam War. He served as squadron commander twice. He retired as a Major with 27 years of service. He started a second career as a building inspector for the next 25 years in Utah. He became one of the best in the state. They have named the award for the best building inspector in the state of Utah after him. He also served as a counselor with SCORE for 10 years.
Allan loved to be outdoors. He loved to fish and to hunt game birds. He was a master craftsmen with wood. He served in many church callings. He served as the stake scoutmaster. He and Helen have served together as temple ordinance workers in the Ogden Temple.
He had a love for his wife, and his sons and their wives, also the grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and always wanted the best for them. He as always giving words of encouragement to them and he was well-known for his hard work and doing his duty.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 23, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at North Ogden 20th Ward Chapel, 575 East 3100 North.
Friends may visit the family at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd., on Friday June 22, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, June 23, 2007 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the
Ward Chapel.
Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
