Allan Poll

Allan Scott Poll

On July 6, 2017, our beloved Allan returned to his Heavenly home after courageously fighting an extended illness.  Son of Arnold and Patti Poll, Allan was born on June 8, 1973 in Ogden, Utah.  He loved his adventurous “smartphone-less” childhood  growing up in South Weber.  At age 15 he moved with his family to Northern California.  He attended Livermore High School where he loved to dominate the football field.  He lettered in the sport and graduated class of 1991.

Allan returned to Utah and on April 21, 1995 married the adorable girl who captured his heart in 9th grade, Lori Leatherow.  They have two beautiful daughters, Shaleigh and Alyssa.  He worked hard to provide for his family as a master plumber, owning his own business until his declining health affected his work ability.

Despite Allan’s health challenges he chose to embrace life to the fullest, becoming a full-time dad to the daughters he cherished so much.  He instilled a love for the gospel of Jesus Christ, supported musical talents, hobbies and set an example of selfless service.

Allan was passionate about music, snow skiing, his family, service, and was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He had a way of making everyone in his life feel special.  Whether sending a note, an email, a text, or a phone call  Allan was always expressing love.

Allan is survived by his adoring wife of 22 years, Lori, daughters; Shaleigh (20) currently serving a full time LDS mission in Canada, Alyssa (17), parents; Arnold and Patti Poll, siblings; Christy Brandly, Janalee (Troy) Coates, Kellianne (Adam) Wilson, Aaron (Natalie) Poll, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister; Alisha, niece; Faith, grandparents; Royal Vine and Jane Poll and Raymond and Lola Chapman.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 14, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the South Weber Stake Center, 7987 South 2250 East, South Weber.  Friends may visit family Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
