SANDY a€" Allen Orvel Jacobsen, 84, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born October 4, 1925 in Salt Lake City, Utah the son of Alma Orvel and Gladilyn James Allen Jacobsen.

Allen served in the Navy during World War II.

He married Willa W. Rabenstein on January 20, 1954. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on January 20, 1966.

He was a member of the LDS Church.

Allen was an accountant. He liked bowling, collecting movies and coins. Dad had two of every movie, both VHS and DVD and coins from the mint. He loved fried egg sandwiches and playing chess with his daughters.

Surviving are his son Allen W. Jacobsen (Susan Myers), daughters, Crissa (Ron) Sandoval, Janalee (Daniel) Gentry, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his wife Willa R. Jacobsen, parents, sister Gladys and granddaughter Bryssalee Perez.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
