Allison Sackett Christensen
LAYTON a" Slipped away peacefully and elegantly, swiftly carried by a breeze to her next estate on January 15th, 2008, as she was surrounded by her loving family.
Allison was born Monday, February 25, 1963. A beautiful daughter to Ken and Sharon Sackett.
She attended Layton and Whitesides Elementary and was a cheerleader at Central Davis Jr. High. Then graduated from Layton High School and LDS Seminary. She was Jr. Prom attendant and Homecoming Queen.
She loved life and her many friends who loved her.
Alley was a member of the LDS church and held many callings such as Young Women''s counselor and Primary Teacher. She loved to cross-stitch, crochet, and make quilts for her family and friends. She also enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling, camping, traveling, and reading. She married Shawn Bennett in 1982 and had two beautiful daughters, Brandi and Calli. That marriage dissolved in 1988.
On April 1, 1991 Allison married Bruce Christensen and with his four children and her two children became a big family of eight.
Over the years, she enjoyed many occupations. Among her favorites, B&B department store, First National Bank, Davis County School District as a School Bus Driver, Secretary at West Point Jr. High, and School Security. Alley loved to travel to various places, but Hawaii was her most treasured adventure with her loving husband Bruce.
She is survived by her husband Bruce, sons: Joshua (Amanda) Christensen, Centerville; Matthew (Jennifer) Christensen, Clearfield; Mike (Dawn) Christensen, Okinawa, Japan; daughters: Nichole Christensen, Layton; Brandi (Jason) Kendell, Uinta; Calli Bennett, Salt Lake City; eight grandchildren; parents Ken and Sharon Sackett, Layton; brother Kirk (Diana) Sackett, Layton; sisters: Melissa Nilsen, Roy; Michelle (Travis) Woodward, Riverdale; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by grandparents Alma and Rachel Sackett, Albert and Beatrice Schenck, Noel and Ethel Jacobson, and Ellen Lavon Torgensen Christensen. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 21, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 12:45to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
Many thanks to the staff and doctors at Utah Cancer Specialists for their wonderful care in treating her cancer. An account has been set up at First National Bank in Allison''s name for donations to Utah Cancer Specialist.
