Alma C. Parisi WEST WEBER – Alma Colleni Parisi, 87, passed away at her home on Sunday, December 28, 2008. She was born September 12, 1921 in Ogden, Utah to August Sr. and Maria Rozza Colleni. Alma grew up in Ogden and at the age of nine, moved with her family to the farm they purchased in West Weber. Alma married Silvio J. Parisi on November 9, 1940 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ogden. Alma and Silvio lived in West Weber for 68 years. Silvio preceded her in death on November 5, 2008. She was a member of St. Mary’s Parrish where she taught Catechism and was chosen Woman of the Year by the Catholic Council of Women. Alma was a volunteer at Ogden Regional Medical Center. She worked with her brother at Top of the World Supply in West Ogden. Alma will be remembered for her love of cooking, quilting and needlework. She was a 4-H Leader in Weber County for 50 years. Alma was also a member of St. Madeline’s Guild and the Trentini Italians of Utah. Alma is survived by two daughters, Marcia Parisi, Ogden; Elaine (Thomas J.) Halliday, Eden; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one sister, Emma Magagna and a sister-in-law, Jeane Colleni Brunson, both of Ogden. She was preceded in death by her parents, a baby sister and a brother, August Colleni, Jr. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 1 p.m. St. James Catholic Church, 495 North Harrison Blvd., with Father Erik J. Richtsteig officiating. Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Preceding the Funeral Mass, Rosary will be held at St. James Catholic Church at 12:30 p.m. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Applegate Homecare and Hospice, Crestwood Care Center and Ogden Regional TCU for their tender care of our Mom this past year. We especially thank Tammy and Gringo for their tireless help and special love for our Mom. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of your choice.
