Alma N. Witt
OGDEN – Alma Neifert Witt, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, thoughtful kind and loving human being and friend, died peacefully on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at her home with her dog Patches on her lap.
Alma was born July 9, 1919 in Wyandotte, Michigan one of two daughters born to George and Louisa Neifert. She was educated in Wyandotte, and graduated in 1947 from Wayne State University, school of nursing in Detroit.
Alma was married to Earl Witt on May 3, 1947.
In July of 1961, the Witt family moved to Ogden. Earl was employed by Thiokol Corp., while Alma kept hearth and home running, entertaining friends and family who came to visit from Michigan.
Alma was a charter member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Ogden. Alma was active in Eastern Star and P.E.O.
Alma enjoyed traveling, volunteering, digging artifacts in the desert, hiking, golf, cross country skiing and anything to get out of housework.
Alma’s family wishes to thank her wonderful friends, Lifepath Hospice, and Comfort Keepers for all the tender loving care.
Surviving are her daughters, Louise Ann Ecoff and Janet Hope (Dennis) Carpenter; granddaughter, Jenifer Lynn Chassse-Suronen (Robert Suronen) and great-grandson, Brandon Earl Chasse.
Her husband, sister, Helen Richardson and son-in-law, Dr. Arthur Ecoff, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 4 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Family will meet with friends at the mortuary on Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Aultorest Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes contributions be made to the Trinity Presbyterian Church.
