Almalee Butler Taylor

Almalee Butler Taylor died at the age of 90, due to complications of surgery on April 9, 2024.

She was born on April 3, 1934, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Ruth and John Butler.

Almalee taught elementary school for 16 years in California. She loved teaching first grade. However, some of her 4th grade students still keep in

She converted to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on March 20th, 1988. She considered this THE BEST DECISION SHE EVER MADE IN HER ENTIRE LIFE. She taught the Gospel Doctrine class for 16 years and loved every minute of it. Serving two full-time missions was also a great joy. She served in British Columbias as a widow in 1989-1990. Almalee and her husband Wimer Taylor served a full time mission at the Salt Lake Visitor’s Center in 1993 – 1994. She has stayed in contact with five of those sister missionaries all of these years from all over the world.

Almalee was a diligent family history worker as she was the only member in her family that belonged to the church. Doing this work for her kindred dead was one of her favorite callings. Her calling as ward organist was another one of her favorite callings in the church.

She is survived by her two children Linda Marie Robinette and David Scot Zittel, her four grandsons: Jason, Nick, Chris and Alex Robinette and their families, five great-grandchildren: Cadence, Hunter, Bodie, Noelle and Luka.

She was preceded in death by her husband Wilmer Harrsion Taylor on April 15, 2017.

Almalee will be buried by her sweetheart Wilmer in the Plain City Cemetery.
