Almyra Hansen

Almyra Dance Hansen

January 5, 1930 ~ October 30, 2015

The frosty morning of October 30, 2015, Almyra Hansen returned to her Heavenly Father and beloved husband.

She was born on January 5, 1930, the second daughter to John E. and Elizabeth Dance.  Almyra was raised in West Weber working like a boy on the family farm.  She attended West Weber School and graduated from Weber High, not missing one day in the twelve years of education which is quite an accomplishment.  She sang in many choirs and was asked to sing at several events.

Almyra had various occupations including Anderson Jewelry, a bus aide for 20 years, and for over 60 years, in the office for the livestock auction that is now Anderson Livestock Auction.  She loved the job and the people and worked there every Tuesday including the week she left us.

February 16, 1952, she married the love of her life, Dale Hansen.  They were sealed in the SLC LDS Temple. Together they raised two children, Dana and Scott.  Always supporting and cheering for them.

Almyra loved nothing more than her family.  There was never a ballgame, track meet, rodeo or 4-H show that she wasn’t there cheering and then crying out of pride for her grandkids.

She loved shopping, nail polish, and purses as a close second.  Almyra crocheted like a master and was famous for her “Grandma Stew” and macaroni salad.  There was never a time you could stop at her home and leave without having a soda or something to eat.

Survived by her beloved children, Dana (Ron) Surrage and Scott (Nessa) Hansen; grandkids, Shane (Karrie) Surrage, Sharidy (Nate) Phillips, Shad, Wyatt, and Harley Hansen; and eight great-grandchildren.

Almyra was preceded in death just 93 days before, by her husband, Dale Hansen; her parents, John and Elizabeth Dance; sister, Oneita Dance Hansen; and great-granddaughter, Traeya Phillips.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the West Weber Cemetery.  Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the West Weber 1st Ward, 4100 West 900 South.  Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
