Althea Toone

June 28, 1928 ~ January 16, 2022

Althea June Slater Toone, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on January 16, 2022. Mom was born in Slaterville, Utah, on June 28, 1928. Her parents are Leland Slater and Artie Iona Fowers Slater. She was blessed with three brothers and two sisters. Mom graduated from Weber High School in 1946.

On February 4, 1949, mom married Calvin White Toone in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together they had two children, Jeffrey Calvin (Teresa) Toone and Susan (Paul) Messerly.

Mom enjoyed many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including Junior Sunday School Coordinator and teaching Primary. She was proud of the fact her husband was Bishop for four years.

Mom worked for the Defense Depot Ogden for 34 years. She enjoyed traveling with her family. Mom was very proud of her roses and enjoyed gardening. Mom loved her family deeply and dedicated her life to us.

The family would like to thank Atlas Homecare and Hospice for the support and care they gave mom.

Private services were held for the immediate family Tuesday, January 25, 2022. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
