Alton DeLoy “Red” Parker, 81, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2011.
He was born August 24, 1930 in Wellsville, Utah to Alton and Leora Anderson Parker. He attended schools in Wellsville and Hyrum and graduated from South Cache High School. He received his Bachelors degree from Utah State University
On December 4, 1950, DeLoy married his high school sweetheart, Diane Norman in the Logan LDS Temple.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
DeLoy was employed at Hill Air Force Base as a budget analyst, retiring in 1986. Following his retirement he volunteered at the Hill Air Force Base Museum and as a care-taker at the Daughters of the Utah Pioneer Museum in Ogden.
As a member of the Roy Jaycees he served as president of the Roy Chapter and as Treasurer of the Utah State Jaycees. He was a member of the Roy Planning Commission for ten years. He took great pride in his yard and garden and enjoyed sharing the produce with family and friends. He enjoyed driving his ’65 red Mustang convertible to meet with the “coffee bunch”.
DeLoy is survived by his wife, Diane; their children, Marsha and Dennis Ard, Nolan and Marie Parker, Dale and Maleia Parker, David and Christi Parker and Kenneth Parker; 19 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren; one sister, Arlene Cooper and two brothers, Paul Parker and Ralph Parker.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 10th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
The family will meet with friends on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
