1930-2013

Alton “Van” Van Ausdal passed away peacefully on December 28, 2013.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He loved his family, and he loved the LDS Church.  He honorably served as a pilot in the United States Air Force for 20 years and earned many honors, including the Distinguished Flying Cross.  He always remained enthusiastic about airplanes.  After he retired from the Air Force, he taught at Central Davis Junior High for 18 years. He served in many Church callings.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lorna.  After her death, he was fortunate to marry LaRueWalker and to gain additional family.  He is survived by his children Denise (Rodger) Purdy, Kevin (Barbara), Randy, and Trina, LaRue’s children Mike (Karen), Steve (Kathryn), Taunya (Dave) Brooks, and Julie, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 3rd at 11:00 am at the Crestwood Chapel, 1039 Crestwood Road in Kaysville. Opportunities to visit with friends and family will be held Thursday, January 2nd from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Lindquist Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N Main and  Fri. from 9:45 to 10:45 am at the Crestwood LDS Chapel prior to the funeral service. Interment Kaysville City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate to Alzheimer’s care and research ( www.alz.org or www.curealz.org )
