Amber S. Edwards
OGDEN – Amber S. Edwards, 87, died Tuesday, January 20, 2009 her home in Ogden.
She was born December 16, 1921 in Woodruff, Arizona, a daughter of Dennis and Mary Lorena Weech Smithson.
Amber married Robert E. Edwards on October 11, 1945 in Oakland, California. He preceded her in death.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she held various callings throughout her life.
She served her country during World War II with the U.S. Navy.
Amber retired from Hill Air Force Base following many years of service as a clerk.
Surviving are her sons, Robert D. Edwards, Thomas L. (Shauwnree) Edwards, five grandchildren, Christopher, Sabrina, Tara, Kari and Cami; and 14 great-grandchildren, Lexus, Austin, Kaden, Justine, Michael, Aliah, Philesia, Spencer, Jacob, Cameron, Ashley, Ember, Robert “Eddy” and David.
Also surviving are two brothers, Horace and Dan Smithson.
Amber was preceded in death by her husband Robert, son Patrick, grandson Cray, granddaughter Kristin and several brothers and sisters.
The family expresses special thanks to Vista Care Hospice for their care, especially Debbie and Stacey.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
