Ambernell “Bobby” Wixom
June 27, 1925 ~ April 21, 2015
Ambernell Bobby Wixom, 89, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2015. She was born on June 27, 1925 in Raymond, Idaho the daughter of John and Nellie Herzog Mumford. She was the youngest of nine siblings. She married Melvin D. Krusell and had one son Melvin D. Krusell Jr., (Susan). After her first husband’s sudden death, she married Max Avery Wixom. They had four children, Terry Max Wixom (Pamela), Glenn Avery Wixom (Cindy), Grant Warren Wixom, and Bart Wixom (Patricia).
She was preceded in death by her husband Max and son Melvin.
Bobby and her husband together raised five boys. She was employed at GSA. Upon her retirement, Bobby spent many years enjoying the summer months at their Bear Lake Cabin and then spending the winter months at their Quartzite Arizona home. Bobby loved having her children, family members and friends visit their summer and winter locations. She was a wonderful cook and could make a great meal from almost nothing. Bobby enjoyed her later years attending the senior citizen center participating in the activities and the Wendover trips. She liked playing bingo and was often quite lucky. Bobby spent her last few months at The Family Tree Assisted living center in West Point. Bobby received excellent care at the Family Tree. We want to thank their staff as well as Summitt hospice for making Bobby’s stay so caring and comfortable. Bobby was a tough little lady and she was not giving up her earthly journey without a fight. She kept her caring staff and family busy watching over her favorite husband’s gift, a decorative bright yellow cane. She made us all laugh. She was very giving, she will greatly be missed.
