Amelia Faye Taylor

August 8, 1925 — February 21, 2022

 Amelia Faye Atkinson Taylor

 August 8, 1925 ~ February 21, 2022

Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully in Farr West, Utah, February 21, 2022 at 96 years old after a long, valiant, and courageous battle with life. She was born August 8, 1925 to Albert and Rose Williams Atkinson in Samaria, Idaho. She was educated in Samaria Idaho Schools before moving to Ogden as a teenager and attending Ogden City Schools.

Faye married Lewis Dale Taylor on January 26, 1949 in Ogden, Utah. They enjoyed 62 years of marriage before Lewis passed away on December 18, 2011.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many callings that she dearly loved.

She lived in Farr West all of her adult life where she raised her two children.

Faye retired from McKay Dee Hospital and was a homemaker raising her grandchildren Jamie Ellis and Chad Taylor whom she considered her own.

Everyone enjoyed her cooking homemade stuffing; hamburger gravy and strawberry short cake was a family favorite.

Faye had a heart of gold, she dearly loved all her grandkids, great-grand kids, nieces, nephews and always had a special place in her heart for all babies. She always could be found having a full house of children over for the night or for the week. She always looked forward to Wendover trips with her brother-in-law Norman. She had a very witty sense of humor and a very contagious laugh. To know her was to love her.

Faye is survived by her two children, Gaylynn (John) Hamlen and Lewis Brad (Debbie) Taylor. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Stacy (Naser) Awadh, Brent Houlden, Jamie (Jason ) Ellis, Chad (RanDee) Taylor , Megan Curtiss, and Tyler Hamlen; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, son, Lewis Brent Taylor; one great-grandson, Jayden Ellis, her parents; five of her sisters, Margie, LaJuana, LaNae, Dale, and Dixie and their spouses.

The family would like to thank Brent Houlden and Jamie Ellis for taking exceptional care of grandma since grandpa passed away. Also a special thanks to Jennifer Bailey for her care and Seasons Assisted Living in Farr West for providing exceptional care to Faye during her last days.
