Amy Allene Hadley Fowers Davies

OGDEN -Amy Allene Hadley Fowers Davies, 88, peacefully passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2011.

She was born October 4, 1922 in Rockland, Idaho. She was the 7th of eight children born to John and Amy Alvord Hadley. Allene is the last of her family and generation to pass on.

After moving to Utah she met Fredrick Lynn Fowers at the White City Ballroom dances, they married on October 18, 1944 in the Logan LDS Temple. They worked together to build a home, establish their lives, and raise their two children in the Washington Terrace area. They were pioneers to the Terrace moving there when it was a housing project during the 2nd World War. Allene lived in the Terrace for more than 65 years. Lynn died on July 29, 1967. Allene later married Robert E. Davies and helped him raise his family. He passed away June 15, 2005.

She had a talent for music and studied voice with renowned vocal teachers. She loved sharing her talent and voice with others throughout her life. She sang in and directed many musical productions. At the time of her passing, she still conducted music for meetings at the assisted living center where she resided.

Allene was a stalwart member of the LDS Church. She served faithfully in many callings especially using her musical skills singing, directing choral presentations and choir groups, also serving for many years as President of the Stake YWMIA and as a YWMIA Stake Board Member. She and Robert were able to enjoy missionary experiences in the Michigan Lansing Mission, the Ogden LDS Employment Center, and at the Ogden LDS Temple.

She worked at Hill Air Force Base until her children were born, and later returned to work for the Internal Revenue Service for 24 years. She received a number of recognitions for her outstanding work.

Allene loved the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and had been a member for most of her adult life. Several years ago, she was honored as DUP royalty during Ogden''s Pioneer Days.

She was a happy, kind, loving person who cared deeply about people. She has many friends who will miss her very much. The family would like to thank the staff at Legacy House for their kindness and tender care given to mom. She loved the people and friends there.

She loved her family. Allene is survived by her children, Lynene (John) Walkenhorst, and Reed (Darla) Fowers; and step-children, Vicky Booth, Bob (Dixie) Davies, Alan (Mary) Davies, Tim Davies, Tana (Clark) Jenkins and Arthur Davies.

She has 42 grandchildren and 71 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 8th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

The family will meet with friends on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
