LAYTON a€" Amy Woodburn Green, loving mother, wife, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on September 1, 2009. She was born on March 15, 1923 to parents Paul Brainard Woodburn and Maggie Janes Woodburn, Amy and her twin sister Ada were welcomed home by siblings Ivan, Lynn, and Myrtle (younger sister Emma followed).

Growing up in Ogden, Utah, Amy supported the local war effort by joining the USO and by working at Hill Air Force Base as a true-life ''Rosie the Riveter''. She met Elmer Rushforth Green and married him on May 29, 1946 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Amy and Elmer were the proud parents of four sons, Stephen, Stanley, Paul and Lawrence.

After settling in Layton, Utah, Amy worked at the sugar beet factory, Flint Floral as a librarian at Doxie Elementary School, and working on her son''s ranch. After retirement, Amy spent her time sewing quilts for her grandchildren, illustrating and writing her own books, visiting her family around the world, continuing her ranching, playing her electric blue guitar with twin-sister Ada, and in the musical group Old Time Fiddlers.

Amy is preceded in death by her brothers and sister Myrtle, husband Elmer, son Lawrence, daughter-in-law Diane and is survived by sisters Ada Love and Erma Levitt, sons Stephen, Stanley, Paul, daughter-in-law Leslie, 23 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 4, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Angel Crossing LDS Ward Chapel, 505 S. 1000 W., Layton. Friends and family may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road, and Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
