Amy Blatter Munn slipped peacefully from her mortal life into the loving arms of her Savior Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, November 23, 2010, after a seven-year battle with melanoma. Her family and friends surrounded her and supported here as she began the next phase of her life.
Amy was born in Richland, Washington, November 21, 1975 to Steven (deceased) and Alison Butler Blatter. She grew up in Uintah Highlands, Utah, attending Uintah Elementary, South Ogden Jr. High, and graduating from Bonneville High School. She also attended Weber State and Utah State Universities.
She married Aaron Taylor Munn in Ogden, Utah on August 22, 1998, and was later sealed to Aaron along with their two daughters, Lennon Taylor Munn and McCartney Eden Munn, in the Ogden LDS Temple.
Amy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a firm testimony of the gospel. She served in several callings in the church. She believed that her life was in God''s hands and whatever happened would be all right.
Amy was a beautiful adventurer. She traveled to Guatemala to serve the people there. She spent time working on an organic farm in Hawaii. She loved to hike, camp, and houseboat at Lake Powell. She was "the best mom ever" say Lennon and Eden. We all agree. Amy had a wonderful wit, a great smile, and a contagious laugh. She had an insatiable work ethic maintaining her home, garden, and yard even when she was not feeling well. She had impeccable style and could make any Wal-Mart outfit look as if it came right off the catwalk.
Along with Aaron, Lennon, and Eden, those of us waiting to join her are her mother and stepfather, Alison and Reed Barber; sisters, Kiersha (Justin) Wheeler, Kelli (Aaron) Pierce, Lindsey (Garrett) Pierson, Teresa (Rick) Tanovich, Melanie (Ryan) Wendt; brothers, Nicholas (Amber) Barber, Jason Barber (Rebecca Cooper), and Brandon (Natalie) Barber.
Amy is also survived by her grandmother, Barbara Butler, 24 nieces and nephews, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceding Amy in death were her father, Steven Blatter; her brother Kyle Blatter; grandparents Gottlieb and Lorene Blatter; David M. Butler; step-grandparents, Kent and Mary Barber.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 29, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Farr West 1st Ward Chapel, 1800 West 1800 North. Family will meet with friends on Sunday, November 28 at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday at the ward chapel from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, South Ogden, UT.
Amy''s family sincerely appreciates the many wonderful people who have donated their time and talents to support her and them through the last difficult stage of her journey. Those who gave selflessly are too many to mention by name, but their acts of kindness will never be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Aaron Munn Family Donation Fund at any branch of Zions Bank.
