Amy Marie Ludlow Smith

Amy Marie Ludlow Smith, 41, passed away on Saturday, March 20th, 2021, in West Point, Utah following a year-long battle with brain cancer. Amy was born in Ogden, Utah on June 23rd, 1979, to Kimball D. Ludlow and Rosann (Wiberg) Ludlow.

Amy graduated from Roy High School, Class of 1997. She married Michael Cameron Smith on March 7th, 1998, in Kimberly, Idaho, and they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on March 13th, 1999. Amy had four children: Michaela Joy, Abigail Rose, Roscoe David, and Paula Jane Smith. Amy graduated from Weber State University with a bachelor’s in education and later received a master’s in educational technologies from Western Governors University.

Amy started teaching science at Legacy Junior High in Layton, Utah and later worked in the Davis School District office. She began teaching science again at Syracuse Junior High two years ago, and later fulfilled her dream of being a librarian at the same school.

Amy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and she held several callings. She especially enjoyed serving in the church as a primary worker and a young women’s camp advisor.

Amy is survived by her parents, children, a grandmother, Colleen Ludlow, and her siblings, Jessica (Shane) Brunson, Zachariah (Shaunna) Ludlow, Mark Ludlow, Robert (Ashley) Ludlow, and Elizabeth (Scott) Lang, and many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Warren Ludlow, who also passed away from a brain tumor in 2007. She was also preceded by her grandparents, Charles Ludlow, and Dean and Beverly Wiberg.

Funeral services will be held for Amy on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Syracuse Mortuary, 869 N. 2000 W., Syracuse, Utah  84075.  Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Amy will be laid to rest next to her beloved brother Warren in the Syracuse City Cemetery following the service. The graveside service will be reserved for family and close friends.

Due to COVID restrictions there will be no luncheon following the service.

The family would like to thank everyone that has generously supported them through this difficult time with many thoughts, prayers, and generous donations. Amy would not let anyone leave without hugging them first and telling them how much she loved them. We miss you Amy and love you too.
