Andrew Nicholas Stout
Andrew Nicholas Stout returned to the loving arms of his Heavenly Father on November 23, 2015, in a tragic ending of a beautiful life. Andrew was born on June 18, 1988 in Bountiful, Utah to Pamela Goodwin Johnson and the late Gary H. Stout. He was the third of four children.
He was raised and attended school in Kaysville, UT. He was a blast and went to every girl choice dance. As a student-body officer he had a myriad of friends who loved him. Oh how he loved his friends and family. He was funny and smart and always rallied for the underdog. Following his high school graduation he attended Snow College and Weber State University studying geology and chemistry.
Andrew was an uncle who could not have loved his nephews more. He was a yellow person and enjoyed life to the fullest.
He was diagnosed with bi-polar this year and went downhill quickly, not being able to hold a job or find any joy in living. His brain was constantly tormenting him. Hospitalizations and medications failed, though so many tried to help him.
Mental illness brings so much shame to the individual suffering. He couldn’t hold a job. Only those with mental illness or seeing their loved one in unbelievable torment could begin to understand.
On our last family outing last week, he was suffering and felt so alone. We held him in our arms, for you see, he was my best friend (mom) and Allan loved him as a son. As he we turned to see him leave he opened his wallet to a homeless man, just a dollar, all he had.
Andrew was not a selfish man, quite the opposite. He was kind to all, blamed himself for any hurts he may have caused. Anyone who calls suicide selfish does not understand the nature of mental illness.
I want to thank the driver of the truck who braked immediately and drove so carefully that no one else would run over his body. The driver was a good man.
He was preceded in death by his earthly father, Gary Stout and loving Grandparents. His oldest brother Chris Haven, wife Chelane, Justin Haven, wife Bonnie, as well as his loving sister, Jenny Nicole Stout loved him with all their hearts. His mother Pamela Goodwin Johnson and the best “father” he had ever known, Allan Reilley Johnson, will hold him close always. Many cousins, aunts and uncles and friends remain to honor his name.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
The family would like to thank the Highway Patrol, Kaysville Police and Layton Police department for all the kindness they showed in Andrew's behalf.
