Angela Marie Owens SALT LAKE CITY a" Angela Marie Owens, 44, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2008, following a long battle with Huntington''s Disease.
Angela was born on March 5, 1964, in Ogden, Utah, the oldest child of Dennis L. and Margaret E. Owens. Angela was raised and educated in Ogden, graduating from Ben Lomond High School in 1982, and later earning an Associates Degree from Weber State University.
On August 7, 1993, Angela married Timothy Sucese, from whom she later separated.
As a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Angela served in many positions, but valued most her service as a missionary in the Minneapolis, Minnesota Mission.
She loved music and performed for several years as a member of the LDS Institute Chorale at Weber State University.
Angela passionately embraced life, with all of its good fortune and disappointments. In her early twenties, Angela was diagnosed with Huntington''s Disease, a severely debilitating neurological disorder. In spite of her illness, Angela''s first thoughts invariably were of others. Angela''s concern and compassion also extended to her numerous pets. Angela never declined an opportunity to socialize with family and friends, and her warm, open personality drew people to her.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and parents.
Angela leaves behind her step-mother, Carolyn Owens, her brothers Dennis (Philip Jeffs) Owens and Greg (Nancy) Owens, and her step-siblings Stephanie Ware, William (Stephanie) Ware, David (Michelle) Ware and Nancy (Gene) Smith. Angela is survived by an aunt, Linda (Val) Schultz and two uncles, Marv (Debbie) Owens and Raymond Webb. Angela is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She also leaves behind an incredible legacy of courage, optimism, tenacity and devotion to her faith that will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to share in her life.
Angela''s family wishes to express its sincere appreciation to the caregivers at Neighborhood House Adult Daycare Center, Holladay Healthcare Center, Vista Care Hospice and Sunbrook Hospice for their compassionate care of Angela.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 8, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Lindquist Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
Friends and family may call at the mortuary on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
