Our cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, Tia, and friend passed into the loving arms of Jesus and her Viejo on the morning of January 3, 2024, sixteen days shy of her 95th birthday. She was surrounded by four generations while she was transitioning to the other side.
She was born in the mining town of Ruth, Nevada to Sotero and Catalina Muniz. After several moves, the family settled in Ogden.
Friday married Don Salas on August 30, 1952. Together they raised their four children in Roy in a home filled with music, dancing, family, friends, and a bottomless pot of beans and fresh tortillas.
She worked at the Naval Supply Depot, North Park Elementary and the Internal Revenue Service.
Her accomplished artistry was displayed through quilting, sewing, crocheting, painting, and any other craft that was exposed to her.
Friday is survived by her four children, Nancy (Ben) Cervantez, Linda (Clive) Stander, Russ (Wendy) Salas, and Monica (Craig) Choffel. She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way; and one brother, Sotero (Judy) Muniz She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Katy Gallegos and Avelina Muniz; and a great-grandson, Jackson Daniels.
Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1100 East 5550 South, South Ogden. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. and a Celebration of life at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.

We will cherish the memories of her dancing with our Dad and find comfort in the belief that they are dancing together once again.
