Anita G. Bair

Anita G. Bair, 85, loving mother, wife, sister, great-grandmother, friend and neighbor passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on April 13, 2011.

She was born October 14, 1925 in Gaspe, Quebec, Canada to Reginald and Marian LaCouvee. She was fourth of 13 children and growing up showed her ability to help raise a large family while enduring the hardships of WWII.

Anita married Don Porteous and had two daughters: Helen (Tom) Simmons, Kitchener, Ontario, Canada; Marilyn (Ron) Graham, Cambridge, Ontario, Canada; and two sons, Glen Porteous, Lake Cowichan, BC, Canada and Robert Porteous of Sunset, UT.

In 1975 she married Melvin Dee Bair of Layton, UT and has been a resident of Layton for 37 years.

Anita was a kind lady who would bring a smile to the faces of all those she came in contact with. Her love for animals and people was obvious in everything she did. She never left home without a treat for her neighbor''s dogs and always returned in great spirits for visiting with her many friends.

Friends may meet with family from noon until 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the Layton Lincoln Ward, 590 W. 2000 N., Layton, Utah.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Best Friends Animal Society, 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanab, UT 84741.
