Ann Louise Yeates Cassidy

Ann Louise Yeates Cassidy passed away peacefully February 11, 2018 in Ogden, from complications of kidney failure. She was born in Salt Lake City on February 15, 1948 to Carlos Alma Yeates and Venna LaVoy Michaelis. She was raised in Denver, Colorado where she graduated from Lakewood High School in 1966.

Annie attended Brigham Young University where she met her husband, Alan, and they eventually settled in Glendale, California. They were blessed with three children: Bridget, Chelsea, and Patrick.  She loved and served her children with soulful joy and fierce loyalty. She found her role as mother most rewarding and was ever-present spearheading PTA events, cheering at sporting events, planning parties, sewing costumes, and savoring musical performances.

Annie is an adventurous, fearless spirit, blessed with creativity and immense artistic talent. She found joy in service, particularly with the youth, as well as teaching Relief Society. She is adored by her children, their spouses, and her nine grandchildren. They have loved the two years that she has spent in Utah after retiring from the Instructional Assistance Center at Glendale Community College. Time spent with “Grandma from the Beach” was filled with laughter, doodling on fancy art paper, painting, swimming, movies, special dinners out, and fun projects.

In 2009 she earned a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Pacific Oaks in Pasadena, California, but most would agree that she had been lifting and counseling those around her, including strangers who sensed her open, accepting heart, many years before she was certified.

She is a bright light of energy, positivity, and determination. She will always be remembered for her courage, strength, love, kindness, and compassion. She will be missed dearly, though we know she is sharing her boundless artistic talent and loving soul with those in heaven. Her unique influence for good will continue to enlighten and bless the lives of others. Her testimony and unwavering faith stand as a perpetual example of resilience that continues on in her children and grandchildren.

Annie is survived by her children: Bridget (Daniel) Bedoya and Chelsea (Travis) Green of Layton; and Patrick (Emily) of St. George; grandchildren: Gabriel, Alex and Jason Bedoya; Boston, Cassidy, Beckett and Callen Green; Ethan and Spencer Labrecque; stepmother LaVerne Yeates; siblings: Ballard, Richard, Janet, Ann LaVerne, Earl, Karla and Jan.

Her family would like to recognize the exceptional care provided by the ICU staff at McKay-Dee Hospital, especially Krysta Padilla and Wendy Barker, whose loving kindness provided comfort and solace during such a difficult time. They cared for her deeply, and will forever be a part of our family.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 16, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the Kaysville LDS Meetinghouse, 900 South Main, Kaysville. Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Friday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Nibley Cemetery at 2 p.m.
