Montana passed away peacefully of natural causes at Avalon Care Center Bountiful, Utah.
She was born in Everett, Washington to George D. Christoferson and Lowe Evanson Christoferson. She had one elder have sister Patricia Whitehead and one younger brother Alvin Christoferson. She was raised in eastern Montana in the cities of Shelby and Cutbank. She took much pride in her Norwegian heritage coming from both sides of her parents.
She met her husband, Norman Ray Bagley while working at the Isaac Walton Hotel at the summit of Glacier National Park, Montana. They each had a son prior to their union; David Pyrson and Dean Bagley. They had four daughters together; Krista, Karla, Kenna and Kamela. They moved to Utah in 1963 first residing in Salt Lake City, and later moving to Layton. The family was relocated to Germany, near Frankfurt, for three years. She divorced and raised her for girls in Layton, Utah.
Montana had a unique personality! She was very witty and loved jokes! She was an expert at crossword puzzles. She had many passions including guitar, harmonica and piano. She loved country and folk music. Hank Snow, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash and Dean Martin were amongst her favorites. She liked the railroad and its history. She was a baton majorette and an expert seamstress, making her daughters matching Easter dresses and other outfits as well as square dancing outfits for her friends. She personalized Christmas stockings and would give them out as gifts. She also enjoyed making the Norwegian flatbread, Lefsa at Christmas time as a tradition of her heritage. She had a fetish for butterflies, ladybugs and elves.
Her daughters wish to express sincere appreciation to the many people who have loved and supported Montana in the past years. A special thank you to her many friends at the senior apartments both in Layton, and Rosecove Apts in Farmington. A sincere appreciation goes to Avalon Care Center staff and Bristol Hospice in Bountiful, Utah for her last year. Also, warm regards to Aaron Hadley with the department of aging.
A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held the evening of Friday, June 23, 2017 at 6:00p.m. at the
Rosecove Apartments, Great room, 847 Shepard Creek Parkway Farmington, Ut 84025.
