Ann Alene Dunn

June 25, 1930 — February 18, 2025

On February 18, 2025, our beloved matriarch and “Grammy”, Ann Alene Jacobs Dunn, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 25, 1930 to Hugh West Jacobs and Kate Roena Halliday and raised in Pleasant Grove, Utah. She had a wonderful childhood as the youngest of five children. She attended Pleasant Grove High School. In 1948 she was selected as Miss Pleasant Grove. She attended college at BYU and Utah State. She married August Gerhard Wiechmann on December 19, 1949. They later divorced. She raised three children and was active in the community serving in the LDS Church, Junior League, and Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

Ann Alene married Theodore A. Dunn on June 22, 1985. Their beautiful love story continues to be a blessing and an inspiration to her family. They spent more than 25 years together. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her family and friends, especially her friends in “The Wild Bunch”. She was a wonderful cook and hostess and loved to entertain in her home. She loved to travel and was able to visit many cities across the U.S. and the world. Ann Alene was skilled at playing cards, earning her Bridge Lifetime Master award. She also enjoyed eating out, sewing, embroidery, and knitting. Our mom was a wonderful example of unconditional love and service to her family and all who knew her.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved by her surviving children, April (Bryan) Redd, Ashley (Janice) Wiechmann, Aric (Cindy) Wiechmann, and David (Robbyn) Dunn; 24 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ted; her daughter, Shirley Felix; her son, Steve (Peggy) Dunn; her grandson, Troy, her parents, and her siblings, Roland (Janine) Jacobs, Keith Jacobs, Mary (Ronald) Price, and Kay Jacobs.

Special thanks to the staff at Treeo South Ogden and Legacy House of Ogden for their care and service to Ann Alene and our family. We express appreciation to Marcie Thomas for her kind and comforting hospice care. We also express appreciation to her wonderful physicians, Dr. Stephen Bruce and Dr. Glen Biddulph.
