Ann Malan Hess sadly left us in the early morning of December 15, 2023. She was surrounded by a loving family. She passed away from complications from a stroke. She is survived by her loving husband of 69 ½ years Earl Hess. 3 Daughters: DeAnn Archibald (Blake); Jill Brinton (Tim); Lisa Hansen (Tad), 19 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren (2- on the way), 1 sister Kathleen Davis.
Proceeded in Death by 2 sons: Dean Alan Hess; Guy Earl Hess and her Parents: David Clyde Malan and Sarah Elta Arave Malan.
Ann married the love of her life in the Salt Lake Temple on May 18, 1954. They began life together in San Diego, California eventually moving back to Utah, raising their family in Kaysville. They later moved to their current home in Farmington.
Ann owned and operated the Chateau Reception Center for many years and continued to run a catering business for many years after selling the Chateau. She also owned and operated a floral business. She loved cooking, decorating, and traveling and was an amazing seamstress.
As a member of the LDS Church, Ann taught cub scouts, mutual, and relief society. She was a temple worker for many years. Ann also catered many events, including the luncheons for families after funeral services. Ann taught young girls and boys in 4H and she held many “empty nester” dinners at her home. Her great joy was spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren--the light of her life. Ann will be missed by all.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at the Shepard Creek Chapel, 1075 W. Oakridge Park Drive, Farmington, Utah. Family and friends are welcome to attend the services or they may visit with prior to services from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
