Ann Manning Tappero

October 2, 1941 ~ August 19, 2015

Ann Manning Tappero passed away August 19, 2015 at Chancellor Garden Memory Care Center in Clearfield, Utah where she was cared for with kindness and skill. She had been battling Alzheimer's Disease for several years.

She was born October 2, 1942 in Ogden, Utah to Robert Donald Manning and Mildred Van Dyke Manning. She lived her early years in Ogden and later moved to Roy, Utah. She attended Roy Junior High School and graduated from the old Weber High School in 1960.

On November 9, 1961 she married a wonderful man, James Anthony Tappero. They were sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple on November 10, 1981. They lived first in Sunset, Utah and then in Roy, Utah.

She worked at Commercial Security Bank and at IRS. She retired from IRS in 1980 and soon after began working on Family History which became her life’s work. She had an immense testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and of the importance of LDS Temple Work.

Ann had many hobbies in life. She collected antiques, baseball cards and anything else she considered collectible. She enjoyed reading, studying the gospel, traveling, word puzzles and having get-togethers with family and friends. Above all else, Ann enjoyed spending time with her family. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she treated them as such.

Ann is survived by her husband, James Tappero (Roy, Utah); a daughter, ToniAnn Smith (Roy, Utah); a daughter-in-law, Lisa Thomas Tappero (Sunset, Utah); a brother, Robert (Sheryl) Manning (Star Valley, Wyoming); a niece, Lindsy Manning (Mesa, Arizona); and five grandchildren: Tabitha Raine Smith, Emma Elizabeth Smith, Christopher James Beaman, Bradley Michael Thomas, and Alyssa Leigh Thomas. She was preceded in death by her son, James Robert Tappero; her sister, Sandra Manning; and her nephew, Bowdy Robert Manning.

Graveside services will be held a 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at the Ogden City Cemetery, 1875 Monroe Blvd.The family will meet with friends from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. at Lindquist's Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
