Frances (Fran) Dixon passed away peacefully on August 10, 2010 at home. She was loved by many and she will be sorely missed.
Fran enhanced and enriched the lives of those around her. She served as president of the Women''s Fellowship and as Circle Leader at the Bountiful Community Church and the Presbyterian Church. She founded the Bountiful Pantry many years ago, and because of her bright idea and hard work, the Pantry is now a large and successful resource to those in need and hungry. Many thousands of needy families have been helped by the Pantry and mom''s work there. She also volunteered at the Golden Years Center for 15 years and did a fine job there. She always saw herself as the one to help others and not the one who needed help, even if she did. She served as a Deacon at the Presbyterian Church. She brought beauty to everything she did whether it was gardening, decorating, cooking, or clothing herself. She did it all with style. Her fun-loving and upbeat attitude will serve her well in her next endeavor.
Fran was one of two girls born to Robert and Anna Smith in College Station, Texas, where she later went to college and graduated from Texas A and M University.
She is preceded in death by John Ward Dixon, her husband of 56 years. She is survived by her children, Kristy Walker, Cindy Temps, Steve Dixon, Jeff Dixon (Lisa), and her grandchildren, Jennifer Walker, Nicholas Dixon, Tony Dixon, Brianna Dixon, Melissa Temps, Alan Temps, Shane Dixon, and Cody Dixon.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate her life at a memorial service on Saturday, August 28th at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. where friends may call from 10-11 a.m. prior to the services. Condolences may be shared at www.lindquistmortuary.com
