Anna M. Moon
NORTH OGDEN – Anna Madeline Moon, 81, passed away Monday, June 22, 2009 surrounded by her family, returning home to the love of her life, Harry.
She was born January 1, 1928 in Salmon, Idaho, the daughter of Virgil and Frieda Harris.
Anna married Harry Moon on August 3, 1944 and they shared nine children together.
She was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary.
Anna worked for Hill Air Force Base, and later retired from Pacific Chromalox.
She loved to spend time with her family, especially Sunday dinners and sleep-overs with her grandchildren. Camping, fishing, playing bingo and being a lucky gambler were the highlights of Anna’s life.
God knew you were suffering, the hills were hard to climb so He gently closed your eyelids and whispered Peace be Thine. In tears we watched you fade away, our hearts were nearly broke, you fought so hard to stay. It broke our hearts to have you go, but you did not go alone. For part of us went with you the day God called you home.
Surviving are three sons, William (Beppy), Bruce (Nancy), Ron (Joan), five daughters, Marcia (Leon) Walling, Patricia (Mike) Barbeau, Pam Richards, Debbie Presswood, Michele (William) Sarris, 33 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren with three more on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, one son, Michael, three brothers, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and her dog, Benji.
The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Almony and Dr. DeRemer for the wonderful care they have given our mother.
A Memorial Mass in Anna’s honor will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 514 – 24th Street.
A gathering will be held at the social center at St. Joseph’s Church at 11 a.m. following the Mass, for those who wish to pay their respects.
