Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Anna Barber Nance, passed away Friday, February 14, 2014 at the age of 79.
Mom was born December 20, 1934 in Ogden, Utah the daughter of Horace R. and Cleo Bennett Barber.
Mom lived in Syracuse her entire life. She attended Syracuse Elementary, North Davis Junior High, and Davis High School.
Anna married Alvin Y. Nance on August 16, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. Mom and Dad had 5 children; Valarie (David) Pollard of Syracuse, David (Chris) Nance of Tremonton, Lynda (Drew) Stagg of Syracuse, Carolyn (Bruce) Staley of Syracuse, Nathan Nance of Syracuse; 17 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, brother, Russell Barber, and sister, Elaine Nance.
She was an active member of the LDS Church and served in Primary, Relief Society, Extraction Worker, Ogden Temple worker and a dedicated visiting teacher.
Mom loved quilting and made quilts for her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed putting puzzles together. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law, Douglas Nalder and her granddaughter, Ashley Nalder.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Spring Haven Ward, 3065 S Bluff Rd in Syracuse. Friends may visit family Thursday from 9:45 to10:45 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.
