Anne Leilani Wheeler

Anne Leilani Wheeler, 67, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2014.  She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to Ray Orton and Ila B Whitesides McEntire on February 27, 1947.  Her family moved to Utah and Anne was raised in Davis County in Clearfield and Layton.  She graduated from Davis High School.

She served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Florida.  She attended BYU of Hawaii and graduated with a Bachelors Degree from Weber State University.

Anne served our country for 10 years in the U.S. Navy.

She married Fay Lee Wheeler on November 17, 1990 in Layton, Utah.  Lee passed away in 2002.

She was very involved in her crafts which included crocheting.  The last few years she enjoyed volunteering at the elementary school tutoring children.  Her favorite times were spent with her family.

Anne is survived by her daughter, Kim (John) Chapman, North Ogden; grandchildren, Johnny, Annika, and Bella; her brothers, Karl (Laurie) McEntire, Falmouth, Maine; Bryan (Darla) McEntire, Sandy; and John (Lenore) McEntire, Cottonwood Heights; sister, Marilyn McEntire, Layton; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and stepmother, Ruth McEntire.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
