Annie K. DeHaan, 92, a life-long resident of Ogden, passed away peacefully with her children by her side on Monday evening, April 24, 2017 at Apple Village Assisted Living in Layton. Born October 24, 1924 in Ogden to Gerrit John and Marinda Poorte Kruitbosch, Annie was the youngest of 10 children.

Raised and schooled in Ogden, Annie graduated from Ogden High School, Class of 1942.  She worked for a time as an elevator operator at the Ben Lomond Hotel, and at the Arsenal or bomb plant, as she referred to it, putting detonators in the bombs, and worked as a meat wrapper and checker at Harmons.

Annie married George DeHaan for time and all eternity on July 28, 1944 in the Logan LDS Temple. A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Annie enjoyed serving in various callings throughout her life, including Stake Relief Society Secretary and in the Primary.

Annie and George raised a family of four children together, George, Connie, Barry, and Gaylene. An accomplished homemaker, Annie also enjoyed camping and seeing the bears yearly in Yellowstone, gardening, and long rides together with George to enjoy the beauty of nature.  An excellent seamstress she also loved to make clothes for her family.

Annie will be remembered for her amazing pies and her ability to make her family happy with her cooking.

She is survived by son, George E. (Susan) DeHaan, St. George; daughter, Connie J. (Jerry) Larsen, Morgan; son, Barry L. (Sherri) DeHaan, Clinton; Gaylene Layton, Roy; 17 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank Apple Village for their care.
