Anson Call III

December 5, 1937 — January 3, 2022

Anson Bowen Call III

1937 -2022 Farmington

Our beloved father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend completed this life on Monday, January 3, 2022, in Salt Lake City, Utah and was reunited with his parents, daughter, friends and family.

Bowen was born on December 5, 1937 in Provo, Utah to Anson Bowen Call Jr. and Verna (Passey) and was the only boy to four sisters. Bowen was named in honor of the Mormon Pioneer legacy of his father, grandfather (Anson Bowen Call) and great-grandfather (Anson Call). He took great care to conduct his life in a manner to be worthy of this name.

Bowen grew up in Provo, Brigham City and Logan Utah. He graduated from Logan High School Class of 1956, served an LDS mission in the former West Germany Mission from 1956 to 1958 and served in the US Marine Corps, ROTC.  Bowen obtained a Master’s Degree in Accounting from Utah State University in 1971. Bowen worked for the State of Utah at DOPL (Department of Professional Licensing) for many years, as well as H&R Block.

He married his sweetheart, Wynlee Sue Gardner, on March 15, 1963 in the Logan Utah Temple.  Together they had seven children, to whom he dedicated his life. Anson Bowen IV (Bo), Michael Aaron, Kristen, Karen (deceased 1972), Lindsay Gardner, Kelly and Kimberlee (Kym).

Bowen was a devoted and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints his entire life.  He was a relentless breadwinner, a kind, generous, honest, genuine and loyal man. He was a keeper of confidences and came to the aid of many, no matter the distance, time or cost. He was a perfect example of the Christian precept of loving and not passing judgment on anyone. He never taught anything he did not amply demonstrate by example.

He loved his family and supported them in all of their endeavors. Countless hours were spent attending sporting events, recitals, graduations and special events for all of his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Wynlee Sue, children, Bo (Tamie) Call, Michael (Deidre) Call, Kristen (Benjamin) Smith, Lindsay (Jasmine) Call, Kelly (Sean Pratt) Grayson, Kym (Cam) Torres, 26 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and his sisters, Carole King, Mary Call, Susan (Mark) Findlay and Kathy (Lew) Lamb.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, from 6 to 8 pm at the Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N 400 E, Bountiful, Utah.
