Anthony “Tony” Zvon Anthony Zvon, a reside of Riverdale, Utah, passed away on January 18, 2013 at the age of 81. Tony was born in Karlovac, Croatia on June 30, 1931, a son of the late Anthon and Mary Zvon. He graduated from Stamford High School, Stamford, Connecticut, Class of “49”, and Wright Technical. He attended the University of Bridgeport and Bridgeport Engineering. He served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Tony worked for Door Oliver, Hewitt Robbins, Crawford and Russell, Dortech and Transact Inc., all of Stamford, and Hill Air Force Base, Utah. Tony retired from the Salt Lake City International Airport in 1996. During his retirement, Tony worked as a background extra for the TV shows “Touched by An Angel” and “Everwood” as well as several movies. He also worked at Schneiters Riverside Golf Course and was a volunteer for 2001 World Junior Curling Championships, 2001 Men’s and Women’s Curling Qualifying for the 2002 Winter Olympics, and the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. He enjoyed spending the winters skiing and summers golfing. Tony was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marriott-Slaterville, Utah, the United States Golf Association, Utah Golf Association, Men’s Association at Schneiters Riverside Golf Course, and the Senior Men’s Association at Schneiters Bluff Golf Course. He coached Jr. Basketball and was a coach for the American Little League. Tony is survived by his wife and soul mate Wendy Jacobs Zvon of Riverdale, Utah. In Tony and Wendy’s home hang the words “In this world you may be just one person, but to this person…YOU are the world”. Tony is also survived by four adult children, Donna (Mark) Docimo, Stamford; Doreen Moynihan, Stamford; Robert Zvon, Stamford; and Thomas (Nina) Zvon, Ridgefield, CT; and seven grandchildren, Chris and Jennifer Docimo, Sean and Brian Moynihan, and Daniel, Michael, and Julia Zvon. He leaves behind two faithful furry friends, Lilly and Bruno. Cremation entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. A Memorial celebration of life service will be held at a later date yet to be determined.
