Antonetta Rijnsburger Dube`, 86, passed away April 4, 2016 at Chancellor Gardens in Clearfield.
Antonetta was born on February 20, 1930 in The Hague Netherlands to Dirk Rijnsburger and Antionettta Cornila van Vurren. In 1948 after spending four years under the German occupation, at the age of 19, she with her family immigrated to America. She came to Ogden, Utah where she met her husband to be George Dube`. On January 5, 1951 they were united in marriage. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple May 12, 1964. Out of this union came four children, Steven Robert (Beverly Ann, deceased) Dube`, Peggy Dube`, Roger (Janet) Dube`, Michelle Groves (Kevin). Antonetta and George made their home in Sunset, Layton for 40 years and Perry, for 11 years living at Chancellor Gardens for the last four years.
She became a citizen of the United States on April 17, 1953. Antonetta retired from Hill Air Force Base after 13 years as an accounting technician. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a member of the Chancellor Gardens Branch. She enjoyed reading, writing poetry, knitting and crocheting making many beautiful afghans for family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George, her parents, and daughter-in-law Beverly Ann Dube`. Surviving are her four children, 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and a sister Oeke Beuk.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 11, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
