Apolinar Gutierrez

Apolinar Gutierrez age 87, passed away on February 26, 2022 in Clearfield, Utah at the Thatcher brook Rehabilitation Center.  He was born in McAllen, Texas on July 23, 1934 to Manuel and Felicitas Gutierrez.

He was retired from Del Monte, where he was a forklift operator.  He was married to Bertha Stock and together they had six children, they were later divorced. 

He enjoyed dancing, watching wrestling, watching western movies and playing pool.  He was an avid Dallas Cowboy football fan, but most of all he loved his family.

He is survived by his children; sons, Carlos Gutierrez, Layton, UT; Eloy (Michelle Berg) Gutierrez, Clearfield, UT; Felipe ( Jeffery Gazaway) Gutierrez, San Diego, CA; his daughters; Belinda Gil and Dora (Ramon) Perez, of Layton, UT, his nine grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and his brother Trinidad Gutierrez of McAllen, TX.

He was preceded in death by his son Apolinar Gutierrez, Jr; three brothers; Donato, Jose, Hilario Gutierrez; two sisters; Maria Rodriguez and Delores Maldonado and his grandson Edwardo Gutierrez.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.  Friends may visit with family from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.
