Apolonia de Paz Mendoza
CLINTON a" Apolonia de Paz Mendoza, 80, passed away Monday, January 14, 2008 at Davis Hospital in Layton. She was born July 10, 1927 in Durlag Leyte, Philippines, the daughter of Eugenio de Paz and Sylveria Busa.
She married Regaldo B. Mendoza in 1948. He passed away in 1993. She received a BA in Education from Far Eastern University and retired as a teacher in the Philippines in 1980. After moving to Utah, she worked at the HAFB daycare center from 1980 to 1998.
She was an active member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. She loved sewing, crocheting, vegetable gardening and roses. Survived by sons: Felix (Fe), UT; Leo (Christy), UT; Cris (Barbara), UT; daughters: Lucy, UT; Anne (Ely), UT; Rose, UT; Connie (Victor), Guam; and Cecilia (Bryan), NC; grandchildren: Lovelle, Reggie, Leah, Ryan, Christopher, RJ, Jason, Paul, Eugene, Sharon, Nelson, Ely Boy, Cristy, Dennis, Candice, Philip, and Joel; 10 great-grandchildren; brother Valeriarno de Paz, Philippines; sister-in-law Linda de Paz , Philippines; niece Imelda de Paz, OR; friends and relatives from Santa Fe Ramblon Philippines; the Montesa Family of Philippines and Claidy Montesa of UK.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Thursday, January 17, 2008 at 9 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 210 S. Chapel Street, Layton with Monsignor Victor Bonnell, officiating. Friends and family may call Wednesday from 4 to 9 p.m. at Lindquist''s Clearfield Mortuary, 1050 So. State Street.
Interment, Clinton City Cemetery.
