Ardis Gardner Manning
WEST POINT a" Ardis G. Manning, 80, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2008. She was born April 11, 1928 in Afton, WY, the daughter of Wallace Ivan and Gladys Bennion Gardner. She married Dean Jay Manning on June 16, 1953, in the Logan LDS Temple.
Ardis was a member of the West Point 16th ward and served as a pianist for different church organizations. She also loved to sing in the choir.
Ardis served the community by teaching for 28 years in the public schools. Ardis enjoyed playing the piano accompaniment for the numerous operattas (school plays). She also played the violin and guitar.
Ardis had a great love for her family.
Ardis is survived by three daughters and one son, Connie Drury (Jeffery), Clearfield; JaNae Manning, and Lynn Manning (Diane),West Point; Kathy Neeley, Roy; 14 grandchildren, Melanie and Brock, Emily, Jason, Abby and Brad, Joshua and Chelsie, Michael, Lori and Jonathan, Jacob, Amy, and Tami; one brother O.D. Gardner (Shirley), Afton, WY; two sisters, Claron Gibbons, Logan; Gladys Gardner, Syracuse; 4 sisters-in a"law, Connie, Stevie, Pat, Gayle; and one brother-in-law, Harvey.
She is preceded in death by her husband (Dean Jay Manning), a great-granddaughter, Arianna, 4 brothers, 2 sisters, 2 brothers-in- law, and 1 sister-in-law.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the West Point 16th LDS Ward Chapel, 4383 W. 300 N, with Bishop Brian Kelley officiating. Friends and family may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd, and at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.
Interment, West Point City Cemetery.
